Yoshi Akai is an artist, musician and instrument designer from Tokyo, Japan. Yoshi has been producing DIY musical instruments with very unique input systems as works of art, and using them in performances.
The work below takes the idea of LEGO synths on step farther – Yoshi has created a complete 8-step, 3 channel LEGO sequencer that actually works.Step-sequencer is the spinal of many of today’s musical evolution.
The Lego Step-sequencer is 3 channels 8 steps sequencer. The different coloured Lego pieces each have their own sound. Connecting the Lego three-dimensional makes complex sound. This is building sound more than playing sound.
